February (Ni ka getsu) brought us quite the adventure out here...we cannot say the same thing about March (San ka getsu). The big events to speak of were finishing Ellie's room and hosting a Snake Saturday party Okinawan style. To be honest it was more NKC style. Funny thing is that no one else had any clue what Snake Saturday was and if you google it the first website that comes up is about NKC. The weather here is cool this spring (apparently last year it was warmer). We have had lots and lots of rain. Apparently that signals a warning for a more active typhoon season at the end of summer. We will have to wait and find out!

Above is Ellie and Flat Stanly (if you don't know who flat stanly is, just ask) at Katie's nail salon.
The next few photos are Ellie's new room...complete with pink walls. Ellie seems to enjoy it...although she has the smelliest room in the house!

The following are photos from our Snake Saturday party...we think we did a pretty good job bringing a bit of NKC style to Okinawa.

This is Ellie and our neighbor Karly.

The middle of March brought great anticipation to our house...even Ellie caught Jayhawk Fever. As you may know Ellie decided to hang up her cheerleading outfit up until the fall.

This is Ellie on the slide at the park...who says you need a professional to take a great photo??

Now...the biggest thing that March brought was that Ellie learned to pull herself up...still didn't really want to do the crawling thing until the end of the month. Here she is after a fall...we think she looks a bit like her dad here...what do you think??

Here we are out to eat...the tables here are perfect for someone Ellie's size...on the other hand if you have bad knees...good luck!

We ended the month at an American Icon...We had stopped here for some coffee last October but this really was our first visit to Makudunaldo for food since we moved here. Believe it or not it was delicious...they have lots of wierd things on the menu like pork or shrimp burgers.

Ellie had her first taste...

Sayonnara for now...see you in April (Yon ka getsu)!!
