August was a whirlwind as our thoughts were mostly on the upcoming visit of Bill and Debby in September. August did bring us plenty of excitement though. We managed to sit out Typhoon Muifa for a whopping 36 straight hours. No major damage reported but all of our beaches on the east side were pretty wiped out after this one. Below Ellie has dressed herself and is ready for the rains (they made us put the kayaks in the house for this one which is why you see two boats next to the china cabinet).
After Muifa passed we had the opportunity to travel with our friends Joe and Lindsey Platt to Akajima, our favorite little island in the Pacific. We had a wonderful, albeit quick weekend.
